Now Jan - big week for doping

What a week for doping cops. Now Jan Ullrich gets a two year ban and is stripped of all titles post Aug 2005. Hopefully they publish any future testing results, can only imagine what he has cooking around in his system these days. Would put Charlie Sheen to shame I'm sure. In other news, CAS are exhuming the body of Marco Pantani to do some further testing.

Guilty

So Andy Schleck get a tour victory to his name, which was looking less and less likely and the odds of Aussie Cadel repeating increase. Look of soul searching going on around BOP today. I would say this story is not over and an appeal is likely. However the butchers themselves have had their reputations restored. It will be sad not to have him in the tour this year, but the race will go on. He'll back on the road for the Vuelta in August.

small car complex

I know buy a small city car with a 1 litre engine, then send it back to Germany and get it turbo-charged beyond belief.

Happy Birthday Peter Pieters

Born in 1962, Peter was professional from 1984 until 1995 . He rode among other Zor, TVM, Tulip and Jolly. He won the Paris - Tours one day classic in 1988 , the year he also became Dutch Champion.

He is now Dutch track cycling coach. Not to be confused with Manly Rugby league stalwart Peter Peters.
